Production Technology
The Ca Mau Urea Plant is one of Vietnam’s key national industrial projects, playing a vital role in ensuring fertilizer security and promoting sustainable agricultural development. The Plant represents a total investment of nearly 900 million USD and is constructed and operated based on world-leading advanced technologies, with the participation of reputable technology partners from Denmark, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Spain.
Modern Technology – Integrated Closed-Loop Production Chain
The Plant is designed with a synchronous and fully integrated technological chain, covering the entire process from gas processing, ammonia production, to granular urea and NPK fertilizer production, utilizing licensed technologies from the world’s leading technology providers, including:

Advanced Ammonia Technology – Haldor Topsoe (Denmark)
The Plant applies Haldor Topsoe’s ammonia technology, a state-of-the-art solution accounting for approximately 50% of global ammonia projects. The closed-loop natural gas processing system tightly controls impurities, producing high-purity ammonia while simultaneously recovering CO₂ as feedstock for urea production. This approach helps optimize efficiency and enhances environmental friendliness.
Modern Urea Technology – Saipem (Italy)
Urea is synthesized using Snamprogetti technology, featuring a high-pressure reaction system and multi-stage purification, which reduces energy consumption, improves product purity, and ensures stable and uniform product quality.
Urea Granulation Technology – TOYO (Japan)
The TOYO fluidized-bed granulation technology produces granular urea with large, uniform, and spherical particles, high mechanical strength, low biuret content, minimal dust, and reduced breakage, making it well suited for mechanized agriculture and long-term storage.
High-Level Automation – Smart Operations
The entire production line is fully automated and centrally controlled, enabling continuous monitoring of technological parameters, early risk detection, and optimized operations. The Plant’s team of engineers and specialists has fully mastered the technology and continuously improves processes to ensure safety – stability – efficiency.
Energy Efficiency – Sustainable Development
The application of advanced technological solutions enhances gas utilization efficiency, reduces emissions, and optimizes operating costs. In parallel with production efficiency, the Ca Mau Urea Plant strictly complies with environmental and industrial safety standards, aiming toward green, sustainable development and long-term corporate responsibility.
Polyphosphate Technology on a Molten Urea Base – Unique in Vietnam
Ca Mau NPK is produced using polyphosphate technology on a molten urea base, an advanced and modern technology that is unique in Vietnam, enabling the production of compound NPK fertilizers with high nitrogen content (>20%), allowing crops to absorb nutrients more efficiently.
Highly Effective Phosphate – No Precipitation in Soil
Polyphosphate phosphorus has the ability to resist precipitation with iron, aluminum, and calcium in the soil, completely overcoming the limitations of conventional orthophosphate fertilizers. As a result, the effective phosphorus availability to crops is approximately twice that of comparable NPK products available on the market.
Even Nutrient Distribution in Each Granule
Advanced granulation technology ensures that each NPK granule contains a complete and balanced composition of N – P – K nutrients, providing crops with stable and uniform nutrient supply throughout the entire growth cycle.
